As I’m sure you’ve noticed, I’ve totally neglected keeping my site updated. This is mainly because I’m sick of sitting infront of a PC for days on end copying pics over, which take about 5 mins each! Plus I’m back in exactly 23 days from now! Back to the real world and all it’s irrelevant distractions.

Well, after spending nearly five months in countries where I couldn’t undertsand an f-ing word it’s so nice to be in a country where I can communicate without drawing little pictures or making silly hand gestures.

Well I´m now in Ecuador. Arrived after a slight scare when after going to bed at 4.35 and missing my alarm which was set for 4.45 waking up at 6.30 needing to be at the airport at 6. Harshness.

These are really nice islands just south of the border with Costa Rica. It had quite a Carribean feel to it and was mainly English speaking which was good as my Spanish was still cack. We got the water taxi from the mainland over to the island and settled in on the first night, having some nice food and few beers.

Feeling quite good after a nice time El Valle. The walk up the Sleeping Indian Lady was a nice warm up for the pending walk up Volcano Baru, which was massive.

Arrived here in good time and the hotel was wicked. Teased a Toucan in a cage for a little while before we walked up to mong in some hot springs.

Quite scary arriving in Panama as I can´t speak a word of Spanish. Managed to get in a shared taxi from the airport to the hotel, which was a relief when I actually got there as I was convinced I was going to be taken to an abandoned quarry and have my liver robbed.

Going to change the way I do blogs again - well can’t be arsed typing out my diary as it takes about an hour each night. I’d rather be out on the town that sat in typing stuff up. Still give the points of interest though - you’ll have to wait for my book for the diary entries…

Up earlyish again today and out by 09.30. Broken cloud today, slightly more blue sky than cloud and a bit cooler than yesterday. On the way to Bear Peak, at 8461ft high will be the biggest mountain I’ve been up - feel sorry for Green Mountain as it only had a days worth of glory being my highest mountain.

Got up at 08.30 again, snoozed for a bit though. Just about to go out for a hike to the Royal Arch and Skunk Canyon. Weather is really sunny again so need to get the P20 cranked.

Sat on a rock with the Flatirons behind me, looking out over a nice pine forest. Almost didn’t come out walking this morning as got up at about 8ish and my monkey stump was killing me. Not sure If I slept funny or sat funny yesterday. Stretched off though and seemed to be better, plus looking out of the window it was clear blue skies so had to go out, aching monkey stump or not.

Just realised that a few of the dates I’ve entered wrong in my diary, putting in March instead of April. Must be losing it. Gave myself a nice lie-in this morning, muchly needed. Wandered down to the local shop to get some supplies and some breakfast which I’ve just finished eating. Much quieter round town this morning compared to last night - guess everyone got leathered and are still in bed. Going to investigate some hills today, get the walking boots cranked.

Sat on the floor at LAX airport in L.A. went for a wander to find a bit of solitude and found a nice corner on the way to baggage claim, even though I’m flying out. Flying to Denver in about 75mins so got a bit of time to chill. Still feel totally minging after last night but more about that later...was nearly sick packing my bags this morning.

Sat on someones wall just down from the hostel. Had an OK nights sleep but nothing amazing. Decided this morning to go on a tour of L.A. - seemed like the best way to see everything in a day. Really nice day for it was well, sunny and hot. Infact I’m sitting in boiling hot sun now, the first nice day I’ve had since last summer. Hope nobody comes along to move me on.

Had to check out of the hostel this morning at 10.00 so wandered down to the other USA Hostel, just a block down, to use the WiFi in there. Managed to sort out my PDA keyboard issues - more about that later.
